As part of an ongoing effort to continue growing the Free State Province’s economy to create sustainable employment and attract new investments, Premier Mxolisi Dukwana officially launched the Free State Factories Refurbishment Programme at Botshabelo Digital Hub on the 12th March 2024.

The Free State Factories Refurbishment Programme further aims to create a conducive environment for SMEs and investors that are currently occupying the factories located in Maluti-a-Phofung Special Economic Zone, Botshabelo, and Qwaqwa Industrial Parks.

In his keynote address, Premier Dukwana encouraged a productive working relationship between the government and registered business chambers to channel the right support and resources to the needs of local businesses of all the sectors operating in the Free State Province.

The refurbishment programme focuses on the improvement of factors such as water pipe bursts, electricity, leakages, blocked sewerages and painting to mention but a few.

This initiative is a partnership between the Free State Provincial Government, DESTEA, Free State Development Corporation, and the Maluti-a-Phofung Special Economic Zone.
