MEC Meeko formed part of an informative panel discussion under the theme “Strategic Partnership towards Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation”.
MEC emphasized that government and private partnerships must be instrumental in driving local economic development and fostering positive outcomes for communities by responding to problems facing society, “strategic partnerships must address socio-economic challenges such as skills shortage, unemployment, and poverty for these challenges to be addressed and eradicated” he said.
MEC further said that DESTEA understands that addressing significant social challenges is most effectively achieved through collaboration. He also shared that the Free State Government prioritizes supporting SMMEs as a catalyst for economic development and job creation.
The purpose of the Old Mutual 2024 Positive Futures Engagement Series is to explore joint commitment to building a brighter future for generations to come. Specifically, exploring the importance of forging long-term strategic partnerships that have a tangible impact, particularly on challenges such as youth unemployment, through creating entrepreneurial opportunities in the Free State.
